Hotel Boudoir with Ms D

We have been looking for a new space since we left our Bedford studio last winter and we tried no less than 6 local hotels before finding and falling in love with this boutique hotel just outside the city. There were lots of great features and backgrounds for us to take advantage of and we decided to offer a weekend special back in the spring to bring in a few clients and see what we could do with the space.

I guess you could say it’s a safe bet that we loved the spot and plan to use it again and again. 🙂

Enter Ms D. What an awesome energy. She is a fitness competitor and recently won the opportunity to compete for Canada in the IFBB Fit World Championship in Ibiza, Spain. So we expected the session to go well, but I think the whole team was blown away with the results.

We’ve said before how much we love it when our clients allow us to share the photos from their sessions and this set was so awesome that we even had it published in a high end Italian fashion magazine, Faddy, a little while ago. Check out the issue here: Faddy Magazine #7 – The Glamour Issue

At 40+ with 3 children, Ms D was an inspiration to all of our team and to top it off, one of the sweetest people you could ever hope to know.

Hope you enjoy the set.

Portfolio Building with B

B has been trying to build a portfolio and break into the local modeling scene. B wants to be a lingerie and swimsuit model and although she had shot with a few photographers from the area she felt her portfolio was still lacking. After finding my web site and looking through my portfolio she contacted me to book a session with hopes that we could create something worthy of being published in a magazine. Having had my work published many times, I decided to take on the challenge and see what we could create once we put our heads together.

The result is available in Vanquish Magazine and was published in August 2016 and you can view the magazine on-line

Fine Art Photo Shoot with A

I previously only had the opportunity to collaborate with A once in the past although we’ve talked about several ideas over the 3 years we’ve known each other but our schedules just never seemed to line up. So when I booked a gorgeous condo in downtown Halifax for a boudoir marathon, I gave her a last minute call with an idea for an image I wanted to create and she just happened to have a little time late in the afternoon so we were able to make it happen.  ðŸ™‚

After working with our favorite Make-Up Artist, Bryana, we looked around the suite to decide exactly how we wanted to create the images I had in mind and we also discussed creating some sexier images as well. Since A usually does lots of fashion and is probably one of the best fine art models in the city, she doesn’t get to create images that fall on the glamour end of the spectrum very often, so after we created the image I wanted, we had a little fun with the fading light and created some gorgeous glamour images too. 🙂

Studio Boudoir with K

K contacted me as she was coming to Halifax from her small town home in Northern New Brunswick for a Christmas shopping trip and wanted to treat herself but also step a little out of her comfort zone by doing a boudoir shoot so she could surprise her fiance with the photos for Christmas.

Because she was travelling so far we were only able to discuss prepping for her shoot through Facebook messages but by the time the big weekend arrived, she was ready and very excited.

We talked and got to know each other a little better during hair and make-up and looked through the wardrobe she picked up while on her shopping trip earlier in the day and the plan was set. K said she was a little nervous because she had never considered being photographed in lingerie and was a little self conscious, but our team helped her relax and after seeing a few frames on the back of the camera she quickly brightened up and started killing it in front of the camera.

As thrilled as K was when the final images were delivered, I hear her fiance was blown away. 🙂

Elegant Boudoir Session with F

F has been coming to me now for a couple of years and has become one of our favorite regular clients in the studio. This time, she was more than willing to let us try a few new lighting techniques. The studio we’ve been renting for the last little while is actually in the basement of a commercial building and there are no windows or natural light, so we’ve been experimenting with artificial light and trying to make it look more natural.
So, believe it or not, these images were shot in a concrete basement studio with no windows at all and we think it looks like these were shot in an apartment on a sunny afternoon with the curtains drawn.

Lighting test successful and F gets some beautiful images too. 🙂
