We’ve been leading this trend in Atlantic Canada for about 2 years now and have been investing a lot of time to work out the technique and skills required to create these wonderful pieces of art using only electrical tape and small pieces of reflective and color sheet vinyl. This unique fashion trend started in Miami, Florida back in 2008 by Joel Alvarez, a “starving artist” living in his car. 12 years later, it’s a worldwide phenomenon with photographers and artists all over the world putting their own spin on his original idea.
Two years ago, I stumbled into a conversation between one of my favorite models, Katia, and make up artist / wonderful human being, Vicki Martin, and the idea and concept was born to bring #BTP (Black Tape Project) to the Maritimes. This set of images was published in RHK Magazine (based in Las Vegas) in April of 2018.
I’ve been working with Bryana for nearly 12 years now. First as a model, then as a make-up artist and currently part of what we call the #DreamTeam! Vicki moved out west and Bryana wanted to give it a try, so we teamed up for round two, which featured the beautiful Ophelia.
Since then, we’ve created a total of 9 tape looks with another in the works and to date every one has been published in various magazines around the world, including at least one magazine cover for No8 Magazine, which featured another favorite model of ours, Caroline. Bryana even taped herself so she could experience #BlackTape for herself in an awesome experiment!
#BlackTape has been requested a few times recently, so we have decided to make it a regular session offering effective immediately! 🙂
Bryana and I sat down and chatted about the time and cost of putting one of these sessions together and after deciding what to include in the package, as compared to our regular boudoir sessions, we’re ready to make it official.
Our brand new #BlackTapePackage will include our full make-up treatment as well as the time and materials for Bryana to complete a unique #BlackTape look, just for you. Your photo shoot will be either in our studio space in North End Halifax or at a local beach (weather and season permitting) of your choice, within 45 minutes of Halifax, and will take approximately 45 minutes.
Where our regular packages include a print credit, which can be applied to anything on our a la carte menu, the #BlackTapPackage will include a proofing gallery for you to select up to 6 images for our full magazine quality editing and electronic delivery of these 6 digital images for personal use in HD resolution. You can still purchase an album or anything else off our a la carte menu as a package add-on at the listed prices.
All this for a flat fee of $495 plus HST. We plan to offer an introductory special through November 15th for any new #BlackTapePackage bookings that are scheduled by December 31st. Interested? Use the contact form to schedule your no obligation consultation today!
